Growing as a Sketchnoter: Tips from @sachac

20121216 Growing as a sketchnoter

My friend and fellow sketchnoter Sacha Chua had a great sketchnote and post in December last year that I think is a great reference — Tips for growing as a sketchnoter for anyone starting to sketchnote and wanting to grow in their practice.

Sacha writes:

New to sketchnoting? Aside from reading Mike Rohde’s The Sketchnote Handbook (see my sketchnote of it!) and Dan Roam’s Back of the Napkin, how else can you grow your skills? Here are some ideas from how I keep working on improving my sketchnoting. Hope you find them useful!

Thanks Sacha!

The Sketchnote Podcast

At the end of 2012 as a follow-up to The Sketchnote Handbook, the Peachpit team, my filmmaker Brian Artka and I teamed up to start The Sketchnote Podcast. You can read more about the backstory on my own blog.

Here's Episode 1 on YouTube:

This week we've released the 3rd Episode of The Sketchnote Podcast, featuring Sacha Chua, talking about how she takes her sketchnotes digitally, with a Tablet PC and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.

We've shot 8 episodes and have 2 more to complete for the first batch of 10. These are queued up to release every 2 weeks — the next coming on February 19th.

You can see all of the episodes on the Sketchnote Podcast page, and subscribe to automatically receive them in iTunes or your favorite podcasting app.

Enjoy!
